WHAT'S GOING ON IN SOUTHLAKE 

The Southlake City Council holds its meetings on the first and third Tuesday of the month.  For more information on those meetings and the other Board and Commission meetings, please go to the City of Southlake Events calendar.

Upcoming activities:

  • New Boards and Commission Members announced.  At the October 6, City Council meeting the Council appointed members to the Southlake Business Council and to the Crime Control District Board. 
  • SPIN Meetings – The SPIN standing committee meets next week and on October 26, there will be two meetings, one concerning the Dragon Stadium expansion and the other concerning a proposed preschool.
  • Tough Enough to Wear Pink – The firefighters are wearing pink t-shirts all next week to support the fight against breast cancer. Tough Enough to Wear Pink – The firefighters are wearing pink t-shirts all next week to support the fight against breast cancer. 
  • Constitutional and Joint Elections:   Early Voting starts October 19, concluding October 30.  Voting will take place in Town Hall, hours are listed on the latest news page. 
  • National Night out rescheduled – After a very rainy Tuesday (October 6), National Night out was rescheduled to Monday, October 26 in Town Square.
  • Oktoberfest – It’s this weekend.  Lots of great pictures hope to see you there.
  • Construction Alerts – Two more construction alerts this week: culvert installation on FM 1938 and overhead line work on Dove Road and North White Chapel.
  • Lonesome Dove Grand Re-Opening – One Southlake’s neighborhood parks is unveiling a new playground on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 5pm.
  • Southlake Senior Activity Center  - The seniors have re-located to a temporary facility at the old Carroll Middle School.
